I just read a post that you made on the "IR Hardware Not Detected" error. I'm trying to set up an S-vid connection, but I get this error. Unfortunately, with WMM2 I get this error message when the TV tuner is plugged in: The video device is currently in use. It shows the video in the bottom right corner (Composite Video) but when I hit next it says: Hardware Not Detected Media Center cannot detect either the IR control cable or the remote sensor.

At this point I get an error which states that "IR Hardware not detected" and a "Try Again" box. I don't have a IR Control Cable and use the remote for the satelitte to change Buy yourself the correct remote IR receiver & IR bug so that MCE can control the set top box. The whole package only costs about $35.

You are not, you are effectively using an aerial input (or antenna as Media center insists on calling it). If you were using a set top box directly you would connect via s-video or composite for the videa & L/R audio & then you definitely would need the Microsoft IR receiver& IR bug to control the set top box.
